1Information We Collect
CanStatLens.ca is a read-only data visualization platform. We do not require account registration and do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) directly through our interface. When you visit the site, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages visited. This information is used solely for aggregate analytics and site maintenance and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
2Cookies
We use a single cookie to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode). It is stored locally in your browser and contains no personally identifiable information. No tracking cookies are set by CanStatLens.ca.
3Data Sources & Third-Party Content
All economic data displayed on CanStatLens.ca is sourced from Statistics Canada's open data catalogue under the Open Government Licence – Canada. CanStatLens.ca does not modify the underlying data values. We link to the Statistics Canada website and other government resources; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.
4Analytics
We may use anonymized, aggregate analytics to understand how visitors interact with the platform — for example, which data categories are most popular. No individual user profiles are created or retained. If third-party analytics tools are employed, they are configured to anonymize IP addresses and respect Do Not Track browser signals.
5Children's Privacy
CanStatLens.ca is an economic data platform intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
6Data Retention & Security
We do not store user-submitted personal data on our servers. Web server access logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes. We employ industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data in transit between your browser and our servers.
7Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data relating to you. As we collect minimal data, most requests can be satisfied by clearing your browser's local storage and cookies. For any privacy-related inquiries, please email us at hello@CanStatLens.ca.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of CanStatLens.ca after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
